So it is nearly February 2017… seriously – where do the days and weeks and months go? One minute I was writing a blog post about welcoming our little one into the world and now he is just over 3 months old and nearly doubled in birth weight!
I always seem to start blog posts about where time is going – but it really does fly by when you are having fun! Valentine’s this year will mark one whole year since we welcomed our four legged friend, Patch into our ever expanding and busy household – and nearly a year to the day we discovered we were expecting our little bubba! Crazy. As you can imagine, I’ve not been really thinking about craft recently… I’ve not exactly had time! However, I have been back designing (when I can!) and I have a few projects on the longer term horizon – but, mainly I’ve just playing with our new little buddy and making sure to keep him happy (and alive!) for the day!!
I know it can be commercial, but I think there is something lovely about Valentine’s Day – The Husband always says he can say I Love You any day of the year (awww) but – I think it is a nice excuse to just show someone you care. And of course – to get crafty and make something! That will mean far more than any shop bought gift… (Well, unless it includes diamonds…!?!) Anyway, here are my top 5 Valentine’s Day crafts to get you inspired to make something for your beloved!
Who says that crackers have to be just for Christmas?? This clever idea for Valentine’s photo party poppers would be fun to make and to give as a cute gift! đ
A very simple but effective idea, that will brighten your home and say I Love You all year round!
These are MEGA cute, and look really simple to make! Mmmmm tasty! And what’s not to love about chocolate pretzels?!
Who doesn’t love a bit of bunting?? A lovely tutorial here for some rustic heart decor!
Love roses? Love strawberries? Why not have both with this tutorial for an elegant fruity crafty idea!
Enjoy! x

What a glorious day yesterday was – the sun shone from morning til late evening – and good job it did too –Â we were invited to an afternoon tea (and prosecco!) garden party, and so rain wasn’t really part of the agenda…! (We were very lucky as both Friday, and today have been horrid!)
There were scones, plenty of clotted cream and jam, typically British sarnies, cakes… we didn’t leave hungry!
Aside from prosecco, delicious food, music, good company – every good party needs some decorations! And that is precisely where The Crafty Lass stepped in.
The brief was simple… make anything you like! But mainly the colour purple.
So, I set about making personalised bunting “Happy Birthday Amee” and “Time For Tea”, paper roses, tissue paper flowers, a party hat and rosette for The Birthday Girl, little cupcake flags, and heart confetti in hot pinks, purples, naturals and creams. (Alot of crafty fun was had!)
If you are looking for something that little bit special for a celebration – why not get in touch to see if The Crafty Lass can be of help. Or, alternatively – coming soon are the creative workshops where you can come along, be inspired and get involved to make these lovely crafty things for yourself! đ Make. Create. Inspire.

Been decorating recently? I bet you have lots of random left over paint swatches – and rather than just shoving them in that drawer in your house that ends up collecting all the random stuff (everyone has one of those!) what better way to use them up than being crafty and making some bunting! Inspired by my recent Easter crafts blog post, and the Modern Parents, Messy Kids Easter bunting – I thought I would make it an all year round decoration with some lovely hearts!
All you need is a craft ‘punch‘ to cut out your chosen shapes (I would also love to do stars!) or patience to cut them all out by hand of course… then, just sew them all together on to some thread. It certainly brightens up my new office door sign. đ
And yes, my office door does have a sign that says – ‘OPEN – Tea and Biscuits Welcome’ and on the other side – SHUT HAPPENS. Definitely with a ‘U’ đ !
Even The Crafty Lass needs to stop being crafty sometimes!

The inspiration for today comes from a little craft project I have been eyeing up for a while now…it started via Pinterest and a wonderful blog post by Bettina Holst. I have spent a pleasant hour on this cold and crisp Saturday evening making some fantastically bright (and oh-‘sew’ easy!) heart bunting! I can utilise my new pom-poms and decorate The Crafty Lass office too – hooray!
I have visions of making some more of these for Christmas in some sparkly and sumptuous gold and silvers… Watch this space for some future Christmas craft (much) later in the year!
For now, I am going to enjoy my new pink, red and green vibrant addition to the office window. đ
