Petal & Pip
If you have been anywhere near ‘The Crafty Lass’ social media this week… you may have seen that I have been talking about one thing, and one thing only. FABRIC!
I was finally able to announce something that has been super close to my heart for months, and months. I have been holding my breath since meetings last October. Wishing, hoping, dreaming. And now – that dream is actually coming true! The Crafty Lass is launching it’s first fabric collection with Craft Cotton Co!
Welcome to ‘Petal & Pip’!

Having studied Printed Textile Design at Loughborough University… print, design, fabrics – is what is at the core of my creative soul. To have something I have drawn, collaborated on, chosen colours on, discussed layout on – to be turned into a commercially available product… is just mind blowing. Obviously, all craft is my thing – but fabrics, and me having ‘The Crafty Lass’ on the selvedge… it just makes my heart sing.
The fabric collection will go out for wholesale pre-order in the next week or two, and then it is planned to launch in June 2021. I mean really… launch in SHOPS. What am I going to do when I see it in the shops?! It will be available in both fat quarter sizes and meterage too – so plenty of opportunity to get making and creating with it. I certainly will be!!
I have actually warned my husband that I potentially will be making everything for our house in these fabrics… I mean surely – I have to!
The florals in the collection were all sketched in that first lockdown 2020 and across Summer. All that drawing was simply born out of a love of nature, a passion for flowers, and a desire to put pen to paper. Every evening! I didn’t know ‘why’ I was drawing every night – but, I felt that if I didn’t ‘ask the universe’ that I wanted a fabric collection… how would it know?
I am quite a big believer of destiny – and that you can drive your own if you only ‘ask’ – a classic ‘if you don’t ask… you don’t get’.
So after lots of drawings, meetings, the wonderful Vicky – Head of Design at the Craft Cotton Co worked her magic to turn my hand drawn illustrations into full designs! Thankyou Craft Cotton Co, for everything. It really is one of my wildest dreams to come true, and I just cannot wait to see what people make with them!
